DJ Dasha and I always are talking music so we decided to have a day where we just plays songs to each other.  We talked central themes and artists so I brought over a crate of records and she had her collection and we duked it out on wax! We also invited a couple of music aficionados in for this listening party with an assortment of vegan snacks and an Ethiopian meal before! YUM!

It was George Harrisons 80th birthday (RIP) so there was a lot of Beatles going on DJ Dasha had all these cool Russian records!

NY Ska Memories w/ Marco on the Bass!

I got the opportunity to talk on some Ska memories with the amazing blogger and bassist,  Marco on the Bass (also known for his integral affiliations w Bigger Thomas, Rude Boy George and Heavensbee) His new podcast Ska Boom: An American Ska & Reggae Podcast is getting us amped up his new book, Ska Boom: An Oral History About the Birth of American Ska & Reggae which should be dropping in 2021. From talking to him I realized that Checkerboard Kids will be 25 in September. We should definitely do something about that in the future. But for now take a listen to this!!

My appearance on Starlet Speaks

 I was so happy to take my Certified Vegan Life Coaching degree at Main Street Vegan Academy this summer since I couldn't travel for the Summer and it was terrific!  I met lots of nice vegan folks that want to change the world! So the first person I want to highlight is Starlet Carbins who has a podcast called Starlet Speaks where she helps women follow a healthier lifestyle.

The PURR-fect civic duty!

Super-criminal CATWOMAN donated blood the first week of march. Catwoman was "born" via comic books in the spring of 1940. making this her 80th BIRTHDAY! She is presently on parole on house arrest providing that she performs acts of goodwill so she is keeping safe from the coronavirus by staying at and home fostering cats. Thus she has acquired her own cat MIDNIGHT who "Waves" with her paw. Once the danger of the coronavirus passes, Catwoman will extend her acts of goodwill to the zoo with the big cats (lions, tigers and panthers) Mostly she will dedicate her time to caring for the cats in area shelters and making public appearances. Catwoman is actually Suzanne Muldowney of Delran NJ. Meanwhile anyone transfused with Catwoman’s SAFE blood is bound to live NINE LIVES!

Fireworks: An Open Letter from Ms. Suzanne Muldowney

To whom it may concern: 

despite the joy and patriotic pride at the Fourth of July generates annually, the holiday also generates danger, injury risks, noise pollution and fire hazards.

 Since this coming July 4th marks 150 years of it being a national holiday, both the government and the citizenry should take advantage of the occasion to ban permanently the sources of the aforementioned side/ after effects FIRECRACKERS and FIREWORKS.

 Over time these explosives have done more harm than good. With the current COVID-19 rules to stay home numberless households may be tempted to shoot off firecrackers in their individual backyards. The abrupt loud noises create noise pollution, fire hazards since individual homes are so close and frighten people of all ages since hearing cannot be adjusted to split-second noises the way it can be for steady continuous sounds. 

Fireworks are also an abrupt-noise source, although they are continuously launched over a several-hour time period. They are also fire hazards because they explode high in the air; there have been instances over time of falling debris causing injuries and deaths. Fireworks unnecessarily cause disruption and/ or lack of sleep for those in most need of it: babies, very young children, sick hospital patients, assisted-living patients and next day workers; a typical exhibition never starts until at least 9PM and never finishes until 10:30PM to midnight, when sleep is needed.

 Birds and animals whether domestic, captive or wild know nothing about the holiday and can be traumatized by the loud noises. Also consider veterans who may be unnerved by abrupt, loud noises that may be suffering from post traumatic stress disorder.

It is up to all in the United States, especially to its highest leaders, to put an end to firecrackers and fireworks that result in more harm than good!!!
